Varsity Monday Info

Our meet tomorrow is against Unity Christian at GRANDVILLE HIGH School at 6:30 pm. This is the same place that we had our Grandville meet. The bus will be leaving at 4:40 pm for a 5:30 warm-up and 6:30 start.

We are five weeks out to conference and seven weeks out to state. I am always amazed at how fast the time between Christmas break and conference and state goes by. We need to make the best of every practice session that we have between now and then. We are starting to swim faster in practice on a daily basis. We will continue to put in some big yards but we will mix in more and more fast swimming over the next couple of weeks. Let's make the most of our dwindling opportunities.

MISCA Meet info has gone home to those swimmers and divers that are already qualified. If you want to make a MISCA Meet cut it needs to be done this week or next. I will need to send entries in next Saturday, February 7. This is a fun meet to go to and as a bonus it is held in the pool that we will be at next year for our state meet, Eastern Michigan University.

Practice this Saturday will be 9-11 am so that our boys have the opportunity to head to the Dow Center to watch the Hope-Olivet meet at 1:00 pm.

Next week Saturday we are hosting the WMSL "B" Championship meeting. We will be meeting during lunches tomorrow at the high school to talk sign-up for jobs for the meet. We need all swimmers and divers to participate to make this event a success. Our program will receive part of the proceeds from running the meet.

Next week Thursdays meet against Hudsonville has been changed to a home meet. 5:30 warm-up and 6:30 meet start.

If you donated any of the Austin peanut butter crackers, I have them in my office. As of right now I haven't heard if they can be returned or exchanged but they are in the office if you would like them.

Our middle school boys are starting practice this afternoon. Please be considerate of them and treat them kindly. They are the future of what we are doing right now. Remember the legacy that this team wants to leave!

Stay tough, have fun, and keep swimming fast!
