THE MEETS ARE GETTING CLOSER

Our first meets are right around the corner and I think everyone is getting excited. We have been working tremendously hard the last couple of weeks and we are starting to see some great results. The girls are getting very worn down…which is to be expected. Please continue to get plenty of sleep, take in good calories, and take care of your body. Last week we did just under 50,000 yards. That makes a total of about 70,000 yards for the season thus far. It’s not all about the yardage…we have done a lot of quality work. I know that last week was a very tough week. You guys did a great job and really persevered. Remember our goal is to not just get through the workouts but to excel in the workouts and get faster.

I hope everyone is very excited to get up north and experience some team bonding without all the pain and yards. The weather looks like it will be perfect for the adventure. Come with a great attitude!!!

Our Otsego meet is the first day of school. The girls need to be on deck ready to roll at 5:15. Warm-up starts at 5:30 and the meet starts at 6:30.

Next Saturday is the West Michigan Relays at West Ottawa South High School on 152nd Ave. just north of Riley. Diving warm-ups start at 7:00 am and the diving starts at 9:00 am. Coach DeRoos will let the divers know when and where you will be meeting. Swimmers will meet at our pool at 11:20 am to ride the bus to West Ottawa. We will have transportation to the meet but will not have transportation home from the meet. Swimming warm-ups start at 12:00 pm and the swimming starts at 1:30 pm. The swimming should last about 3 or 4 hours.

The team is really starting to come together. Keep working hard and good things will come. Remember that everyone on the roster is an equal member of the team. Every person works hard and every person is important.

Keep up the great work.

This is a quote provide by Kay Berends that came at an opportune time:

Adversity causes some (wo)men to break;
others to break records.-William A. Ward

Let’s break some records,
Coach Talsma
